How to develop willpower and stop procrastinating

Willpower is understood as a powerful, inexhaustible inner energy. Only it turns out that it is not so infinite, and some people do not have it very powerful.

This “engine” of many of our endeavors and accomplishments sometimes fails, or it needs fuel. How do we not let this beast stall and where do we get the fuel to keep it running all the time?

Find something that will motivate you

Saturate yourself with it, think about your goal, feel like you've already achieved it. Do you feel the rush inside? You are ready to act and overcome any obstacles. Let go of insecurity and low self-esteem - they slow you down and your development.

To understand the reason why your willpower is not at its highest level, you need to understand the neurological reason. It is not due to the fact that you are a person who is lazy or unable to act. Tension and fear are the worst enemies of willful action.

Put all doubts aside, think through a plan of action and start taking steps to realize it. Believe me, the will and motivation will come back to you. Visualize the end result, feel the triumph, and the will to achieve the goal itself will ignite in your heart.

Identify what fears might be getting in your way and how to overcome them

Fear can make you lose your will to act. Fear causes you to procrastinate, and you postpone all your endeavors to another day.

Fear of rejection and fear of failure is what causes you to postpone your endeavors.

You fear being rejected, ridiculed by society. It makes you step back, disappointed in yourself and forget about the dream.

Agree: without trying, you won't know the result. Let everyone say what they want, we know that you persistently go to your goal and do not stop fighting like a real warrior.

Every minute of delay distances the moment of your triumph. The will is born in the process, but you must have the courage to act.

Create an environment that will help you succeed

Surround yourself with people who will support you, not drag you down. Discard everything that prevents you from achieving your goal, because any irritant reduces your motivation and takes up extra time.

Control your desires - they can become a threat.

Wasting energy on fleeting satisfactions of your “wants”, you can lose the true goal, and without it it is not easy to generate will.

Think about what happens if you don't achieve your goal: what disastrous results it could lead to. Create the worst possible scenario in your head and keep it in mind.

This is a great way to motivate yourself, which will prevent you from giving up on your goal and straying from your chosen path.

Develop willpower in a physical way

Hard, grueling workouts not only toughen your body, but also your spirit.

Doing one more lift, running a kilometer farther, lifting more weight than usual - these are challenges not only for your body, but also for your mind.

Overcoming yourself from time to time, you will learn to concentrate all the willpower to achieve the result and forget what it is - to give slack.

After all, lying under the barbell, you don't think about dropping it, do you?

Trust that all endeavors will succeed

It is the ultimate generator of inner will. No doubts and no snot. You feel this feeling of success day in and day out, the smell of expensive leather in the interior of your car and the champion's belt around your waist.

Dream big, don't be afraid of the most adventurous endeavors and don't think that you can't succeed!
